BStrong mobility in UNIX systems could be supported by allowing a process to fork a child on a remote machine. Design and implement the system call myfork which semantically works exactly as a UNIX fork yet one extra parameter is needed which identifies the machine on which the child will be spawned and executed. Explain how this would work, provide details and design decisions taken. Also do document your conducted survey results as part of your final report. Do make use of the supplemented papers as a good starting point for issues to consider. During the demo, I am expected to show the instructor the code for the driver (the program using myfork) and provide some evidence that the parent process is still running at the original node while the child is ONLY running at the destination node. For those who’ve already finished the project and wish to have an early demo, send me an email to schedule one.
