I have a new Open Cart 2.0.3.1 site that has recently been setup and has had a customized template applied. I have list of products from a wholesaler (PDF attached, and online XLS converted file) and need these uploaded to the site. I have a list of products with SKU, RRP$, Name, Dimensions, Manufacturer etc. from the wholesaler, and the wholesaler also maintains a website ([url removed, login to view]) that has a detailed description of the each item and hi-res images which are also available on dropbox links below.
You will need to download all the images (500+) from the dropbox links below (around 5GB) and then perform image optimisation performed to shrink the image sizes (see [url removed, login to view], files should shrink to under 1GB). The filenames in dropbox match the product codes in the PDF, and for each product you will need to extract the product description from the wholesalers website, e.g. [url removed, login to view] for each item in the pdf.
You need to generate the appropriate number of categories for all the products (which I need to review first), and then organise the data for upload into the site. My preference is for that to be provided in a format I can upload (e.g xls, csv, sql etc) so it's repeatable in the event the site has an outage, but will also consider allowing admin/ftp access to the Opencart. Experienced in SEO keyword placement for Opencart items is preferred.
Due to the volume of products a programmatic approach is preferred, and this will also ensure no data input errors, please provide some details of your approach in proposal.
You need to have strong communication skills and be able to provide regular (e.g every 1-2 days) updates on the progress.
There will be the possibility of repeat work as we add additional wholesalers.
