Need help obtaining local parish birth & marriage records in India & Pakistan. (Probably Hindu/Brahmin records, but also work records may help. I believe the family was probably involved in British society, as many of the children wed with British subjects later on, including my great grandmother).
Am researching my family history and am based in the UK. Am looking for someone local in India or Pakistan who can assist me in finding documents relating to my ancestors in India. My Great Great Grandfather was known as John Chatterjee but later changed his name to John Davids. I believe he had multiple marriages. One daughter Cecilia Chatterjee was my Great Grandmother.
Would ideally like to find out more about John, his wife(s) and possibly his ancestors also. Can provide all the information I have as a starting point for anyone who is interested in helping with this project.
