Create Multiple JPG files from original illustrator/eps format

I need some assistance in creating a number of jpg or gif images for my new logo. I have the original EPS and AI files which I was given by my graphic designer however as I am not proficient with Illustrator, I have difficulty in converting these files to image files (jpeg or gif). The PNG image files do not size down very well, so I would like you to work from the original vector files and create a range of jpg or gif images that I can use for my web site and other digital purposes.
I need a few small sizes which I can use for twitter & facebook, linkedin profiles but also want some wider ones (990x230 pixels) for use on my website.
Ideally I want you to create a range of sizes for a variety of uses.
