In short it is a 2 HTML pages a java script running on the server side, where it checks the content of 2 files and appends date to one of them
It has not got to be pretty, it can stay simple HTML code on white background. It just has to be simple and work.
Here's the details
HTML page 1:
several input fields:
Name (string value)
code (string value)
magic number (integer value)
date of birth (date)
date of test (date)
a display field underneath automatically shows the number of years and months between the date pf birth and the date of test
a submit button
On clicking on the submit button, what happens:
(I need this logic to be done by scripting server side)
the input code is compared with a list of codes in a text file on the server (one code per line)
if it matches, and has never been used before (see below (*)) then we continue:
We append in the file of codes, to the line where we found the code, in this format: name, n_years, n_months, magic_number
(the fact that the code is now followed by some data will be the sign for us that the code has been used (*))
We write to the second html page and display it:
"Hello" [Name] ", you win, your number "[add the magic number here] "is a magic number"
on that second form, there is a button "play again" that returns us to the first form
if it does not match we just return on the second form "the code does not match" and we also display a button "play again" that returns us to the first form
