Customizing Magento 2.4 MSI logic

We have an issue with product reservation allocation with default setup where we have two locations (sources), and we would need small customization:
We have two sources (let's call em A and B). I have set A to be primary i.e products are first deducted from A if they are available.
In scenario when customer orders product Y x 10
Available quantities for X in sources in this scenario are
A = 5
B = 15
Currently Magento reserves all the items from B if not available in A: Magento asks all 10 X from B - this info is sent to our POS/ERP automatically - we use reservation as data on how many products need to be shipped to location A where we pack orders.
We would like to solve our issue with following new logic:
Five (5) product X are reserved from source A (this is all that is available) then the rest would be filled from source B (in this scenario five (5) product X.
* all available from primary location
* rest from secondary location
I do not know how big of a project ie. taking offers regardless of the estimated budget
