This might sound a bit complicated, but in stages it should be fairly straightforward for someone with the necessary skills.
I will create a MySQL table with a list of RSS feeds. I want you to write a script which I can run each day. The script will
1) Read in all the data from the RSS feeds and populate another MySQL table with all the data (Table 1).
2) Access all the URLs in the RSS feeds, and extract the text from those URLs (leaving behind all the HTML code). I can provide more ideas of how this can be done. This data should be in another MySQL table, (Table 2). A field in Table 1 should be updated if this is successful.
3) Search Table2 for keywords, and extract all records with those keywords. Using an HTML template which I will provide, relevant extracts of the text from Table 2 will be written to static HTML pages.
4) An index of these pages must also be created, in much the same way as in a blog. That is, a monthly archive page, and a list of recent news articles on the home page.
Care must be taken to ensure this script can be run from CRON, and that it doesn't cause a server timeout, regardless of the number of RSS feeds or articles.
## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) I am happy to install scripts and can provide a test environment if required.
b) All code should be reasonably well-documented so if I need to tweak something later on I can understand your code. At the least, all functions and procedures must be commented (one sentence will do), and each major section of code must again be commented.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
## Platform
This is to work with MySQL and PHP (or ASP.NET if you prefer) running on a Windows 2000 server.
I only need code, I will do the HTML stuff myself.
