Office password cracker (97/2000/xp) Develop a program that can do a brute force attack on office passwords in order to find the password. If you are unsure what is meant by this I do not think you will be the right person for the job. This really needs someone familiar with the specifics of the encryption used here. I'm intereseted in hearing other views on how to approach this but really feel the only viable approach is to work on just the hashes. The process of feeding passwords into the system is not the bottleneck. It is the asking say Excel (through automation) to open a file and trapping the resulting error. Maybe we can search for the encryption keys I am unsure if this is harder but from what I have read it would take a brute-force test up to the MS 15 character limit could take approx. 44,000,000,000,000,000 years. Given the task nature I don't mind C++/C# as it's arguably a better choice. What I want is something that will be fast! Give me some ideas people
