Help customize my star map designer web app and integrate Google Maps API

I have created a star map generator at create.nightskymaps.com. I am having issues with the Google Maps API integration so that when a user enters their desired location it is translated to a lon and lat that is plugged into the star maps API that has been created. I think that this is what we need done to the site [login to view URL] From this API code [login to view URL]

In addition to this API integration help we need assistance in making the website look more visually appealing, I have attached some mockups of what we would like this page to look like.
