Create a bash script to check network connection

Need a quick bash script that performs the following:
Clear screen
Check if tun0 interface has an ip address
if it does -- open [url removed, login to view]
if not, wait 60 seconds, checking every 5 seconds
if still no ip address after 30 seconds,
if it does -- open [url removed, login to view]
provide status update using scrolling status bar
