Breach a social social norm, in other words, be deviant. Perform one of the following experiments (not one you think up) and discuss your findings. 1. Violate someone's personal space. Sit too close, stand too close in a line. 2. Be formal in an informal setting. Eat at a fast-food restaurant using utensils, a table cloth or place mats, and glasses (not paper cups). 3. Do a random act of kindness. Pay for a stranger's coffee or soda, buy a burger for a homeless person, carry someone's groceries to their car. While you are being deviant, pay attention to your own physiological responses. Are your hands sweaty, are you feeling light-headed? Do you feel like running away? Maybe you feel cool and calm. How were you affected by acting in a deviant manner? Also note the reaction of your "subject." How do they respond? Are you sanctioned in any way? (Review page 147-148). In addition, discuss the role of sanctions in maintaining social order. NEED 5 different versions for 5 different students, please note. approximately 250 words each student.
