Teaching English to speakers of other languages. Design a speaking activity based on input from a written text or video clip. Prepare a powerpoint slideshow with audio commentary explaining the activity. Use information from the Stempleski article attached. Your presentation should include: 1 A clear description of the group it is designed for. 2 A clear justification for using the activity with the group including the communicative purpose of the activity, and whether its main focus is fluency or accuracy. 3 A clear description of what it will allow the learners to practice in terms of language and conversational strategies that should be appropriate for the level and type of group. In addition: a A brief written summary of the activity b Brief teacher's notes / instructions for how to carry out the activity. Bullet points are fine. c Any materials that students need for the activity -- this may be a handout or worksheet. d. A copy of the original text or link to the video clip.
