Android Support multiple screen

I want to learn how to make a perfect layout which runs on multiple screen size and density and resolution. Actually i have read about support multiple screen support on [login to view URL] and also on many blogs but still i am not getting it. I have tried with size and resolution qualifiers and also the nine patch image but still its not working for me. Anyone who knows how to make layout for all screen and sizes than please tell me.
