I have 25 years working in product design and manufacturing and have the skills to take any product right through the design process to a level ready for manufacture. Working for many international companies such as Wallmart, Speedo, Hitachi, Visa, Tommie tippie and Tomy. To date I have assisted in taking over 40 products into production and have been responsible for creating IP for many other companies. There are 3 basic stages to my work. Stage 1 – initial concept ideas based on suitable existing technology Stage 2 – design refinement based on your feedback from stage 1 Stage 3 – Development of chosen concept idea – this will look at developing parts for prototyping. I have an idea that does not require the widget being fixed directly to the valve. I work in the ventilation industry and there was a need to know if air flaps were open or closed and my idea was used to do that with great effect. I also have a few other ideas. Hi, I have had a look at the attached document and (as expected) there are heaps of question regarding the details. I can give you a more detailed response if you forward me your Freelancer link but for now it seems you need a very simple but robust solution considering the working environment. Intitial thoughts suggest an hermetic enclosure witha simple sounder and battery. Easiest way to trigger it would be a simple reed switch assuming you can install a magnet in the oposing face of the flap stem. Does the device need to know that the flaps are fully deployed or just that they are no longer stowed? How will anyone hear the sound if its immersed in fuel? In respect of the battery life ..How long will the sounder need to be active? What restrictions apply to the dimentions of the device other then the thickness? Regards and good luck.
