General Guidelines Be sure to zip and submit all files AND include the URL for your final project in the notes area. Don't forget to indicate both the catalog and admin URLs. You may use outside sources (in fact you'll probably need to do so). If you take code from an outside source you just need to include a comment in your code indicating where you got it. However, the majority of the code must be your own (at least 80%). You must build the system from scratch. You may not use WordPress or any other off the shelf solution. The Project I am starting my own business selling target archery equipment. I need a Website to show off my products and allow people to buy them. The site has three main components - the catalog (what the buyers see), the shopping cart (allows the buyer to buy), and the admin area (allows me to add new products, edit products, delete products, see orders, etc.). For an example you can look at - [login to view URL] (Links to an external site.) (obviously your site will not be as complex as this, but you can take products and pictures from this site). NOTE - you should probably start with part 3 as you'll need the products in the database in order to complete the other parts. 1. The Catalog The catalog should include the following pages (at a minimum): Homepage with featured products (pulled from the database) Bows page - showing bows, strings, limbs, etc. (products pulled from the database) Gear page - showing cases, finger slings, arm guards, etc. (products pulled from the database) Arrows page - showing shafts, heads, fletching, etc. (products pulled from the database) About Us - make something up FAQ - make something up (use JQuery Accordion styling) Each product (on the homepage, bows page, gear page, and arrows page) must include the product title, description, picture, and price. You must also include an add to cart (remember buyers may buy more than 1 at a time). HINT - instead of trying to store the actual picture, make an images or picture directory and then just store the picture's URL in the database. You'll still need to figure out how to display it correctly. Please add 3 products to each category and designate 3 as featured products. 2. The Shopping Cart Once a buyer has added a product to the cart, s/he needs to be able to remove the product, edit the quantity, or add to the quantity. They then need to checkout. For checkout we need to store (in the database) the following: Name Address City State Zip E-mail Phone Credit Card (be sure to secure this) Purchase information Upon checkout update the product quantity (for example if I have 10 bows and somebody orders 2 the quantity in stock should update to 8). HINTS - the best way to develop the cart is using sessions! You might need more than 1 table to handle storing the purchase details. Buyers DO NOT need to setup an account in order to checkout. 3. The Admin Area The admin area needs to be secure (so only I can log in). Please set the login credentials to username = malaga, password = malaga (if I cannot login, I cannot give you credit). The admin area needs to allow me to add, edit, and delete products. Here are the product details I need to store: SKU Product title Product description Product price Product quantity Product weight Category (bows, arrows, or gear) Featured product (should it appear on the homepage) - NOTE: featured products also appear in their own category.
