I need to create a very simple but elegant iPad app for my client, which is a company that pours concrete slab foundations for home construction.
The app will provide a simple interface for their home builder customers, or more specifically the customers' site managers, to prepare & submit very basic fault reports to my client from their iPads while they are actually at the building site. The data related to each fault will be automatically uploaded to an online database, allowing the client to view or print (via a web browser) a list of outstanding reported problems or faults, record completion of the required rectification work, mark each job as completed, possibly append some basic notes, and view history and details of completed jobs.
The app will be distributed via the iOS App Store to provide a simple and familiar installation process for the end users. It will collect contact details of the end user during the installation or online registration process, and then attach those details with each submitted report so my client knows who submitted it.
Upon opening, the app interface will prompt the user to create a new report, or edit an existing report. Choosing new report will present the user with data entry fields for recording the site address and date due, and then a drop-down list of standard fault types, along with a notes area for entry of specific details. When that data is submitted, the user will be offered options to submit another fault for the same site (using exactly the same process), or attach photos, or to complete and submit the report.
