I can help you write a react component which shows percentage while it's uploading in a progress bar. My recommendation is to do the compression on the backend because image compression is slightly supported in Html5 only. I can write you a PHP script if you want to compress the image. Hi, if there is no problem, you can do it as you say you will show the progress bar while you are in the file and do not download quality unless you want a minimum of quality and a maximum that can be done as well.
