I've developed a very similar app. the component installed on target device does not appear on home screen. your device send sms message to target to get gps location and display on Google map.

Hello, I have already developed and Android app that detects the phone's current location via GPS as well as via the network carrier's cell phone towers, and then sends the geo coordinates (latitude and longitude) to a remote server after every 2 minutes. The app also sends the phone's current battery level along with the coordinates. The app allows the user to specify a battery level and a phone number such that if the phone's battery reaches the specified level, then the app automatically sends a message to the specified phone number. The message contains the phone's battery level, geo coordinates and a personal message that the user can specify. The app also allows the phone to receive a text message from another phone, and if the text message contains a specified code, then the geo coordinates and the battery level of the phone are sent back to the phone that sent the first text. The app has an appealing GUI and continues running in the background once the user exits the app. Hence the app continues to detect and send the coordinates and battery level of the phone to a remote server silently in the background. The application is complete and running, and I'll be honoured to modify it to suit your specific needs. I'll also optimize the app to run smoothly and ensure that it has the same look and feel across all versions of Android.
