Our content-driven social networking site for Tweens is seeking to add blogging capabilities for our users. We are looking to have someone implement a clean, and simple blogging system. However, we are not looking for a stand-alone application, rather something that would serve as a plugin style addition to our existing site.
The key concepts that the blogging system must support are:
- Multiple blogs within one framework: We have many users, each user should be able to maintain their own blogs.
- Communal blogs within the framework: We have writers, and would like the allow the writers to maintain content blogs that are not tied to a specific person.
- Moderation of blog content: Our site uses a custom moderation package, so each blog post (and associated comments) should include moderation flags and date-stamps, and the associated approval actions.
- RSS and Atom syndication: It is important to us that users can promote their blogs, and one essential tool for doing so is RSS and Atom syndication feeds. These must be available on a per-blog basis.
We do not want the following features included in the package:
- Trackbacks
- Instant Messenger / Twitter links
- Email links
We expect the deliverables to consist of:
- Migrations
- Models
- Controllers
- Views
- Any needed helpers
- Any needed routes
We don't want any additional plugins or gems to be used if possible. If their use is desired or necessary for clean design, then please ask. The following gems/plugins are available for use:
cache_fu (memcache)
will_paginate
Details of our models and moderation functionality will be made available to the winning bid.
