Change layout of main navigation bar in existing PHP website

Existing website requires some formatting/layout changes to the main navigation bar. Attached is a document showing the existing layout and screen examples of the required changes. The website is currently split into two areas: - eDirectory (PHP, Javascript) - Joomla (for Kunena forum) For the eDirectory component, the sites main navigation bar is currently contained within the [login to view URL], and most items within the menus are pulled dynamically from an SQL database. For the Joomla component, the menus are created manually from Joomla admin (a customised template was designed for Joomla to give it the same look as the eDirectory part of our site). Part of this project will be to see if the Joomla component can somehow use the eDirectory header instead of its own separate header. The objective is that when a change is made to an eDirectory menu, that change is also made in Joomla without having to make the two changes separately. The website is www.searchmacarthur.com.au.
