Convert legacy SGML and HTML SEC Edgar 10-Q filings to XBRL. XBRL is an XML schema for information that would be found companies annual report, such as the Balance Sheet or Statement of Cash Flows. Historically SEC 10-Q filings have been filed in SGML or HTML, with variations in the layout of the tables containing financial data (with the names of tables, order of columns, and the labelling of rows being different filing to filing). The goal of this project is to write a Perl or C/C++ program to convert legacy 10-Q filings the XBRL format. It needs to grab a specified URL, and then print the extracted financial information in XBRL format. To make this project doable, just 10 companies filings have been selected forr conversion. Only the specific list of test URLs (provided in the attached file) need to be converted correctly for completion of this project. All of the test URLs must be correctly converted in order for this project to be considered complete. For each quarterly filing, you are only interested in that quarters numbers (often other quarters are included for comparison). You are expected to have enough basic accounting knowledge to be able to guess which accounting terms in the XBRL most closely match the labels used in the filings you are converting. Required Language: perl or C/C++. Required Platform: Linux or other Unix. Required Knowledge: XML and basic accounting concepts. Consult the SEC XBRL page and the XBRL site to get the correct XML schemas for XBRL for 10-Q and 10-K data. <[login to view URL]> [[login to view URL] [login to view URL]][1] ## Deliverables 1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done. 2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables): a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment. b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request. 3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law.
