I need the shell of a simple blackberry program with a basic layout: 2 rich text fields (one centered, one a regular paragraph style), 2 buttons on the bottom ('next' and 'prev') that let users click through a list/array of text items I will be editing later. ? The program needs to save the ID of the most recently selected item and display it the next time the program runs. I have the BB development tools but am having too much trouble figuring out how everything works. ? In VB I could do this in an hour or two but I've hit a wall with BB development.
I would like the successful bidder to provide the workspace files and commented code needed to finish it on my own in the 4.1 IDE (to maximize forward compatibility), such as changing background color/gradient and fonts, and knowing where/how to edit the text content.
## Deliverables
The text for display - not sure how many items there will be; anywhere from 10-500. ? Each is a heading or title followed by a description.
When the app is run the first time it loads the first item and description. ? The user clicks the 'next' or 'prev' buttons to move back and forth through the list. The program keeps track of the last viewed item. ? Each subsequent time the app is run, it starts by loading up the next item in the list, wrapping back to the first one if need be.
Text: there is a heading centered in one text field a few lines below the top of the screen, and a description below that. ? I don't know if it needs to be 2 records or just one with the right font and carriage returns to position it properly.
Buttons: ? along the bottom of the screen, not at each corner but closer to the middle.
The screen color needs to be adjustable by me, either colors, gradients or a picture. If the picture is a problem for earlier versions of the BB, let me know. I want to use the 4.1 IDE so that older models aren't excluded, since no advanced features are used.
Orientation: ? No changes to the layout based on orientation.
I don't know how the text will be stored, but I need to be able to edit them and add/remove them as necessary. ? I do not want users to be able to see or edit the text, it should be part of the app files and not an external source.
UPDATE: ? I have attached a sample picture of what the interface should look like.
