I need to write some text to a file in Excel format. The text is name and address data that is to be used for a mail merge by MS Word. The reason I want to use Excel format rather than just text is that I need to have a single data field with multiple lines. (If you use multiple lines in a text file it thinks it's a new record.) I don't want to OLE automation or ADO or anything I just want to write the file directly without talking to Excel. What I need is a simple demonstration project of how to do this. It needs to be well documented within code. See the attached excel file for an example of what I need.
