Assignment
Model at least three carriages to add to your toy train engine.
You do not have model any railway tracks or a hand to move the train, it can move by itself.
The train must start at a toy platform, go over a toy bridge then go in a circle back to the plat form.
The wheels and carriages must be parented correctly and must move correctly.
The train does not have to be textured but simple colors will help.
Show references and pay attention to timing.
Procedure
Analyze the challenge and the scope of the project.
Plan and create a timetable for the project.
Idea development and research:
Research relevant videos and images.
Thumbnail the animation you intend to create.
Create the animation.
Render out the preview movie file. (Maya uses the terminology “playblast”, 3ds Max uses the terminolgy "grab viewport").
Marking Criteria
Animation: 60%
Correct hierarchy and movement of train an its wheels. Animation must be believable.
Accuracy – accurate to the brief.
Tidiness.
Presentation: 10%
Correct naming convention and file format used.
Self-evaluation: 30%
Research and time manage plan.
Self-evaluation, texture maps and source citations.
Presentation of thumbnails.

Submission Format
All files must be submitted by or before the stated deadline (according to course plan)
All file names should follow the naming conventions from the introduction project (DATE_MODULE_NAME_FILETYPE), for instance: 20120831_M3_John-Doe_FP01_001
The animation are to be submitted as MOV file format at 25 fps HD 720p
Reports, references, plans to be submitted as a PDF.
Drawings / sketches, thumbnails to be submitted in PNG file format.
Assets to be submitted in an asset-folder.
Files to be submitted
NOTE! Webstudents will also deliver their daily sketches along with their weekly assignments. This is not a part of the assignment grade, but will get a short individual feedback. These sketches are mandatory and required to pass the course and to get your final report card.
