Automatic file search, locate and copy to external drive

I want a routine to use the first 8 characters of a file name, locate the file in a windows sub-directory with the same 8 leading characters, Copy the file to an external drive (when found), proceed to the next search. There will be a search for over 1500 files in a subdirectory containing over 67,000 files. I want this written as an Excel Macro or Add-in. ## Deliverables I have attached an Excel spreadsheet detailing what I am looking for.
