Android Launcher Application

1 Introduction The proposal for this small project shall include development for the Android platform. The app is a Launcher App. This App can be either a new development, or delivery of a white label version of an existing app. The aim of this launcher app is to be preinstalled on a device that will also have other preinstalled apps of our choice*. Number of apps will be constantly changes do launcher app should have provision for it. The launcher app will restrict the use of the android device, by limiting it to a few apps and overriding the ability of an unauthorized user to use most of android device. An authorized admin user will be able to change settings as required. 2 Target environment The Android app shall be designed and tested for use on a Android version 4.2 to latest available 3 Outline of App The Launcher App should have the following features: Pre configured home screen, so that on install it can have a pre-defined set of apps available for use, User configurable home screen, so that authorized admin user can add or remove apps, Admin Configurable wallpaper, Overrides home button and back button so that they do not exit the launcher app, Ability to start on device reboot, Ability to override screen saver, 4 digit pin to change settings, About screen, Help screen, User settings screen (pin code for admin user), 4 Preinstalled applications Video SIP phone client with h264 support for video and PCMA/PCMU for audio. This app shall be programmed to be easily used by remote control, shall work in background as a service, allowing receiving and making video calls. IPTV client player which will load set of predefined tv channels via http api with h264/h265 support, mp3, aac. Player should support EPG, remote should normally changed channels UP/DOWN, digits, P+, P- (there should be support for choosing what remote button does on the player.) There should be default buffer size, but should also have option to edit it. Radio player which will load set of predefined radio channels with mp3 and aac support. VOD player with torrent library support, h264/h265 support, mp3, aac. Image viewer with gallery. Digital signage player (images, videos, gif support). Option for remotely adding additional apps. 5 Delivery Delivery of full source code will be to BitBucket repository and any associated instructions for use of software. The contents of this request for proposal include information that shall not be duplicated, used, or disclosed, in whole or in part, for any purpose other than to evaluate this request for proposal. All source code including all libraries, and documentation, with all intellectual rights and copyright will be handed over at final delivery and shall not be shared with third parties.
