Overview
The client acts as a local firewall for incoming emails. As such it is installed and resident on each PC.
The Spam client acts as an intermediary to pick up emails from a POP3 or IMAP server on behalf of an email client such as Outlook or Eudora. The Spam Client will then parse each email and check to see if it is from an authorized sender. If it is not authorized then the client will send a response reply email back to the originator of the message requesting a confirmation code.
If the email is authorized then upon the next connection from the client (Outlook), it will pass the authorized emails through.
The Spam client will therefore contain the functionality of both an email client for retrieving emails from a server and storing them, and the functionality of a server for passing those emails to the email client and removing them from it’s store.
