Hi,
We want to be able to manage our Faxes related to each account in CRM 3. All our incoming or outgoing faxes actually come as a PDF file attachment to our email Queue in CRM called FAXES.
For example, you can fax us at our Fax number and this will end up in our Fax Queue in CRM3 as an Email activity and the fax will be attached to it as a PDF.
Once this Fax. we don't know which customer sent this fax to us.
So now we want a small button on top of this Email activity on this Email CONVERT TO FAX and it should ask us a dialogue box asking to assign this Fax to which Account in CRM as an Incoming Fax.
We want to clearly identify Incoming Faxes or Outgoing Faxes related to this Account.
You can see below that incoming email with a PDF file is actually a Fax but it comes to us as an Email. Now we want to open this Email activity and there should be a button which says CONVERT TO FAX. So this way it will ask us that we can turn this email activity into a Fax activity as an INCOMING fax from a particular customer's account and it will display in his INCOMING faxes next time. So this way next time we go to Fax section of this customer's Account, it will ask us a drop down menu with the option to see all Incoming Faxes from this customer or all Outgoing faxes to this customer. Each fax will have a subject line as well so we can identify it later easily. We will make one global Fax section where we can search a particular fax with particular subject line from particular customer at anytime.
In order to send an outgoing fax. All we need is a button on customer's account called SEND FAX. It is just similar to SEND EMAIL in fact.
In this way, it will ask pretty much same thing as Send Email and just like email we will attach a document that we want to send to customer as a Fax but it will ask for a Fax Cover Page template as well and then it will track this into this Customer's Outgoing Fax automatically.
