MARKETING PLAN/EXECUTION FOR A HYBRID BOOK PRODUCT We have, just finished and off to the printers, an unusual book, “Bedtime Stories for Capitalists”. Quirky, sophisticated, funny series of stories, each has a lesson on investing, largely stocks. Sort of an "Aesop's Fables" for investors. Co-authors two very experienced successful investors. 144 pages, square, glossy white, softcover, perfect bound, beautiful severe/spare/artistic design. Illustrated by a talented artist with color drawings consistent style, funny for each story. Very humorous, sometimes sarcastic. Style casual, but reading level, vocabulary not always simple. Attached so you have a little feel for it is the cover and a random example from inside. (Idea grew out of weekly newsletter, developed a small cult following, encouraged us make a book). MARKET Could find its niche and take off as a glossy coffee table symbol of success. Maybe find legs simply as an entertaining/unusual/funny/valuable book on investing ie “Bedtime Stories so you won't be eaten by the wolf of Wall Street” Could be aimed at a more sophisticated wealthier audience. Ideally it catches on and somehow comes to the attention of the general public interested in investing. RFP We think we need mix of high level work, simple support labor. Want to know what you think needed. You design the campaign: goals, implementation, measurement, results. Recommend, decide with us: Marketing, distribution, fulfillment, management, reporting, web presence, channels, exclusivity etc. Get it actually into the hands of the influencers who can give it legs. These people difficult to reach. Lower level clerical work to support marketing (maybe you do, maybe you find/supervise). We're available to help but we have busy schedules with our jobs. (Fyi due to regulators of investment advisers, book is separate from and we cannot mention our jobs). I had a book published (by Van Nostrand Reinhold) sold well (for a technical book) but decades ago. Need you to be responsible for yourself and the project. You monitor deliverables, monitor yourself, monitor others, measure success or lack of it. Communicate with us, report to us, get our approvals, but we authorize/approve, you supervise. Perform your work with only minimal milestone-based supervision. Not required but a plus confident enough for some of your compensation success-based, at least in part. What you will do yourself, what we or you will have to do ourselves or find others to do. Details. Especially what is not included. Entire program. We're amateurs. Do not assume. Calendar time and cost for everything all costs zero surprises. Cost and time. Any way you like. Not required but best would be per line item or project: Lump sum or hourly rate, time estimate, guaranteed not-to-exceed cap. All or some portion results-based, measurement. Anything you need from us. Anything else additional you think we need, what did we leave out? Same all costs and time please. Your experience, references, samples, examples, etc. Not required but the more relevant the better.
