And also to specify image size. Output to PDF is also possible but need to have MS Word installed. Your app will be completely standalone, only double-click and use. A solution that would fit the set budget would be a simple python script that you can easily edit and run locally. it would have 3 variables where you specify the directory (full path) of the image sources. and will require to have a source docx file, that has the image placeholders, each placeholder will be given a name that will be specified in the script as well. The script should randomly choose an image from the source directories and automatically fit them to corresponding placeholders. To avoid having the images being distorted (since they may be in different dimensions and the placeholders have fixed width and height), the script may crop the images before fitting them into the placeholders. CodeSystem. I'll run a macro that randomly selects any image from the specific folder, for each of the three locations. It's probably easier to run this in excel rather than word initially - it's easier to maintain image locations. Then I can either create a pdf for each individual copy, or create one large pdf version of the 'mailmerged' job. If you'd like, I can set it to use a particular image a minimum number of times (just in case the random selector chooses the same image too many times...) The code will automatically resize the image, keeping the scale.
