I have a typo3 (4.0.2) web site on a remote server. The site is current 160MB and will grow, as will the database.
I would like to perform backups in the following way (unless you have a better idea):
Daily:
* System to backup database locally and compress
* System to FTP backup (compressed) to a remote server, with file name as the date
* System to email FTP log
* System to email alert email if failure to do Mysql backup or FTP
Weekly:
* System to compress any new or created files to a single archive
* System to FTP backup (compressed) to a remote server, with file name as the date
* System to email FTP log
* System to email alert email if failure to do Mysql backup or FTP
Montly:
* System to compress all files to a single archive
* System to FTP backup (compressed) to a remote server, with file name as the date
* System to email FTP log
* System to email alert email if failure to do Mysql backup or FTP
Also require a proceedure to recover the typo3 install.
The server is on <[login to view URL]>
If you read doco you will see it has:
* Does perform daily backups, but need HTTP authentication to access
* SSH Access
* Crontab: <[login to view URL]>
Please let me know in general terms you approach to this.
thanks
James
