We are a small, independent NGO/ONG that monitors disaster relief and humanitarian aid. We do independent oversight. We are building a website to help improve transparency, accountability and effectiveness in global disaster relief and recovery efforts. The concept is this: After disasters occur, large and small donors want to help and often donate to the wrong organizations. Large international NGOs/ONGs often raise hundreds of millions of dollars while Civil Society Organizations local to the disaster struggle to cover their costs. Disaster vulnerable areas become more vulnerable and less resilient. This problem occurs all over the world after disasters: Haiti, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Peru, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and more locations. We are building a website that will collect PRE-DISASTER DATA from both international NGOs/ONGs and local civil society organizations so donors can have and use better data from day one after a disaster when making decisions on how to help. We want to help make sure donors have the information they need to support organizations that have the greatest capacity to respond. If the organizations that have the greatest capacity to respond raise more money, we think more lives will be saved and there will be less suffering. We also see long-term benefits for the local organizations, as well. So what does this involve? This project has been underway for a while and our volunteer developer is overwhelmed with his current full-time job and we need help. We want to add to the code we already have... not start over! So far, we are using the following: GitHub, CodeIgniter, Node.js, D3.js, [login to view URL], Grocery Crud in PHP, MongoDB, MYSQL, JQuery, JSON, CSS3, javascript, AJAX, Composer, Bower, We are seeking a highly skilled programmer who can pick up where our most recent volunteer left off and help us finish the project. The design comps for this website are complete-- in JPG and PSD form. Representatives of disaster relief organizations will log in to the site (user authentication is complete) and update data every 3 months.. there are 3-4 survey forms they must complete (these are 60% complete). 1) General Organization Information, 2) Contact Specific Information, 3) Location Specific Information, 4) Disaster Specific Information A programmer needs to help finish the forms, by adding more questions fields and making sure they are all connected to MYSQL, mongoDB and the front-end. We need to complete Interface Programming with the front-end designs (CSS3, JSON, HTML) This is roughly about 25% complete. Complete the Admin DashBoard Email reminders and confirmations are set up but need to be integrated through organization's gmail server, and not hosting company's. We are using GitHub for merging code and Kanbanize (donated) as a project management tool. There are likely additional tasks that must be determined once a developer has had a chance to review the code base and determine the status of this project, and plan next steps. If you've read this whole description and you're still potentially interested, you need to understand that we are a small NGO/ONG and can pay something but likely not at a competitive rate. This project has the potential to significantly improve disaster relief and humanitarian aid. Most of the development to-date has been done by volunteers but their time is limited and we really want to get this project completed ASAP. Thank you for your consideration. Ben
