The attached plug-in is exactly what we need, except that it is not working in the latest version of WordPress: 3.5.1 The project is to create a working version of this plug-in Plug-in will allow administrator to select (by user) an option to not display the Media button on the left sidebar of the control panel menu: Note that the selection is by user and not by role. The key requirement is that the user will not be able to view the media library. The user can view images when editing individual posts, but cannot view the images inside the Media library. Must be a plug-in: No changes to core code of WP - just a plug-in.
