I have a working website that runs on PHP & I have a Yahoo Answers API connection, key, etc. From Yahoo Answers, I receive data via XML that I need you to parse and place into an HTML table that I can style. Two steps that will be easy for you...
(1) Reformat my keyword variable to pass it through correctly to the API call in the URL
Each page of my ecommerce sites has PHP variables that determine what products are displayed...it normally calls them in this form: <?=title?>, etc. The way my API connection works is that I pass a variable through to the API in the URL. So I'd like you to convert my multiple word variables into a format with + signs between the words so that they go into Yahoo API request url correctly...My <?=title?> variable would output "custom guitar" which leaves an error, but we need to add the "+" and insert it into the URL.
// The Yahoo! web services request
$request = '[login to view URL]';
I do have the API key but left it out of this for privacy.
So, this will be easy for you...converting "custom guitar" into "custom-guitar" so that we can put it into the URL that gives back the XML...(and all other multiple-word variables).
(2) Parse XML results that we are getting & format those results into my CSS styled table. For you, this is a straightforward quickie project using plain XML.
Here's an example of the XML I'm receiving:
[login to view URL]
I will provide the script for ecommerce page where I am dumping th XML, and I will provide the table (format with the CSS style) that I need you to put the parsed info into.
I will provide the PHP file that makes the call to the API, and simply needs the variable tweaked & added to the URL. All you will need to do is add the code to the script to correct and email it back to me.
I realize that this is a VERY fast and easy project for most of you - I'm hoping to build a relationship with a talented developer to do more projects like this.
I'd like to start this as soon as possible and launch this week.
