Simple website re-design, needs some colour and graphics!

I have built the basic layout for a website. I am an experience web developer and intimately understand HTML and CSS (along with technologies such as PHP). I require the current design to be added to and improved upon. This will include a suitable colour scheme and the use of graphics. The produced work should be of a professional standard and adhere to best practises for website development. That is HTML for content, CSS for layout. I will provide guidance and ideas for the finished design. ## Deliverables You will find the current layout situated at: [login to view URL] The current colour scheme was created whilst designing the layout of the page and does not reflect what the final layout should look like. The layout has been specifically designed and should not change, it compromises: - A header bar - A left column for winners - A right column for Competitions The header bar should include the website name and some links. The left column bar should include a list of recent winners, these will be listed by the date they won (most recent first). The information needed for a winner is: - Winner picture - Winner name - Prize Won - Date of win The layout of this is to be developed by the winning bidder. The right column bar includes a list of current competitions. The information for each competition is: - Competition name - A question - An image of the prize - An option to enter via text, and online The current layout for a competition may be altered, however it seems fairly effective as it is. The bottom boxes for enter by text and enter online could use laying out more effectively. The use of an image (such as a mobile phone and a computer) would work well. In general I require a design that is unique (no templates, I am providing the template!), colourful and easy to read. Fonts should be minimum 12px, with larger fonts a definite bonus. The website [login to view URL] is a good example of the professional appearance and bright, memorable colours I require. It uses well spaced, good sized fonts to improve readability and makes good use of a combination of images and text. Please submit a list of websites you have previously designed for me to review.
