You can use OsBarcode which is a plugin for your OSCommerce shop. This plugin will retrieve the barcode text and place on your EAN-8 or EAN-13 barcode field. From here I will add a small script which will automatically do the shopping cart or inventory update as well.

Hi, I'm a little bit confused.... Any USB scanner works like a keyboard. So just put cursor in the search field and scan your barcode. It will search... The same when you want to add any product - just put cursor in the desired field and scan barcode. So what do you want exactly to do? Thank you for your time, Denis
