I’m Andrew, a social media specialist, and marketing agency owner, with many years of experience to my name. Many freelancers will tell you that skill-level, planning, preparation, research, budget, timeframe, turnaround etc. are the most important aspects of your project. Of course, these things do play a major role in the success of a job but it’s not the most important factor as I’ve discovered over the years. For me, the working relationship between freelancer/client is what will decide whether you succeed or fail. Communication is critical to any relationship and being able to convey your thoughts back and forth are a must, if you’re hoping to receive what you envision. However, just as important are the goals, ambitions, desires, work ethic, and standards of both freelancer/client because if they don’t align, then the project is doomed from the start. I can only work with clients that meet my high expectations and anyone wanting to work with me should have high values and expect a lot of value in return. Freelancing sites are notoriously difficult for finding either good freelancers or clients due to the auction mentality that exists. Too many clients expect way too much for too little, while the freelancers provide minimal effort with minimal quality. Which is why, I suggest we take on a small ‘test project’ before we decide if working together is a good idea. Small enough so that it won’t impact your budget, yet big enough so that you experience results.
