I have an existing desktop application for the PC that has been coded in Python in a Windows development environment. It uses libraries like Pyside, Pyqt, Coffee, and Django; and is hosted on an SVN. The software has recently broken because a few of the web sites the software relies on to function have made changes, thus breaking the software.
This job is to use the internal “macro editor” GUI as seen here [login to view URL] to check & update the macros in the software (as needed), so that it gathers the correct data AND fills forms correctly, as well as fix any errors relating to incorrectly gathered (or missed) data. I am estimating that only 5-8% of the macros the software relies on are broken; The rest work! You will be able to quickly edit and update the existing macros which are stored separately from the source code in individual files using a GUI editor designed for the task, and can be easily edited in a visual environment that parses the correct html for required assets like buttons and forms making the updates very quick. Minimal programming will be required as you will be updating existing code in an editor built for that job and not adding any new features. Just fixing what used to work…
The ideal candidate will be efficient in desktop application development using Python and should have at least 3+ years’ experience; and preferably have access to a Windows development environment or virtual machine. Knowledge of JavaScript helpful. If you have read this entire job description, reply with the words ‘white rabbit’ to confirm your message is not a form template for consideration; and please let me know of any questions you may have. **Budget 250** Payment will be made in full after you have successfully completed the job. The duration of this project is 7-10 days, and the work should be completed in that timeframe. Developers with experience in web automation a major plus! The candidate hired will be used on future maintenance jobs of this application AND immediately hired for another job creating a setup/install program for this application. Looking for long term developers to work with consistently.

Hi, if you're still looking for a developer to help check & update the non-working macros I'm interested in helping out. I'm an experienced Python developer I have quite a bit of experience with creating web scrapers for various purposes. I don't have any experience with FMiner, which looks like a very useful tool, but I'm confident I'll be able to correct the macros using its visual designer.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Hello, ‘white rabbit’!
I have about 8+ years of experience in working with Python and Windows. I've recently worked on bots using both JavaScript and Python (ended up using Python with Selenium for the latest job).
I think I'm the man for this job.
Best regards,
Danilo G. Botelho.
