I have been an open source contributor since the early 90's. I use open source personally and professionally, and have contributed bug reports and documentation corrections to dozens of projects, from Linux distributions and open source languages (python and PHP) to web development platforms and software libraries. I have contributed source code and bug fixes to Linux, the Tcl/Tk language, the typhoon relational database, and various implementations of industrial I/O protocols (including kernel drivers for Modbus+ and A-B PLCs). I was also one of the lead developers on a (now-defunct) project to build an open source software framework for industrial control applications. I am currently working as an industrial control systems consultant.
