I need an HTML5 video player to be used e.g. with Netflix, to improve language learning for my family.
I'm thinking of these key features:
- Play double subtitles (e.g. EN, ITA), font size adjustable
- Play at a slower pace (example. [login to view URL] ), up to 0.5x
- Play XX seconds of movie with, English audio, then keep the image STILL and play the same XX seconds of the Italian audio only (keeping the double subtitle still)
It should do this automatically, ideally at every change of the subtitles (i.e. the timeline of the subtitles controls this "back and forth" sequence), with a couple of controls such as "add 1 or 2 second tolerance when playing the second audio", choice of audio 1 and audio 2 order, play at a slower pace only audio 1.
It should work as an extension of Chrome being able to play a file either from Netflix (see [login to view URL] for instance) or from a local/LAN folder, or from a webserver running on the PC if HTML5 does not grant access to local files.
