I am an electrical engineer who specializes in embedded systems and firmware engineering. I am building a synthesizer/looper/effect processor/drum machine from a raspberry Pi 4 running Pure Data sketches. I am new to pure data, so I haven't really harnessed its full potential in my design. I am looking for a sound engineer who is an expert in Pure Data, who wants to be a part of this project.
The purpose of this project is to create a Youtube video of the device to market my skills and my collaborators skills. Whoever gets awarded this project will have their name mentioned in the video and I will put links in the video to their upwork profile or website.
I am looking for someone who wants to be a part of this project because they think its cool and want to show off their skills. Unfortunately, my budget for this project is small because I am funding it out of my own pocket (hurray for stimulus checks), but I expect the video to garner a ton of attention on Youtube, so this project is still worth your while.
I have attached some files to give you a rough idea of what this thing looks like. Right now, I am having custom boards designed and the mechanical parts are being made. I expect this project to go on for about another month and a half. The firmware is pretty much done.
The ideal candidate for this job is an expert in pure data and a sound engineer. The ideal candidate is someone who wants to brainstorm ideas and help me improve my pure data sketches. There is potential for increasing the funding as this project progresses.
My project is loosely based on this project [login to view URL]
This video received almost 700K views. From an embedded perspective, my design is already lightyears ahead of his, but to be perfectly honest, his pure data sketch is more impressive than mine and we can't have that. Check out his pure data sketch in the video bio on github. If you don't think you can do better than that, don't bother applying. Also, I am not using a USB serial communication, everything is done with MIDI, so that makes the design considerable less complicated.
