In this exercise, you will build your Excel, analytical and presentation skills. While this is an individual assignment, feel free to work within your analysis teams. Dataset Background Context We are conducting an analysis for the Human Resource Department and leadership to help the organization understand why they are having turnover issues. Right now, there is too much data and not enough information. The CHRO and CEO need useful reports, fail to understand the difference between data and information, and would like multivariate analysis. The data set we are using was derived from Workday and the company's ERP's HR subsystems (Oracle and SAP). About this Analysis Why are our best and most experienced employees leaving prematurely? Have fun with this database and try to predict which valuable employees will leave next. Fields in the dataset include: Satisfaction Level Last evaluation Number of projects Average monthly hours Time spent at the company Whether they have had a work accident Whether they have had a promotion in the last 5 years Departments Salary information by banded within roles Assignment Let's example the difference between data and information using a published dataset on https://www.kaggle.com. Create an account and locate the dataset for this project: ps://[login to view URL] (Links to an external site.) Once you have located the dataset, identify whether or not the file is 1) data, 2) information or 3) both. Then import the data into Excel and create a comprehensive analysis to understand how the various forms of employee engagement affect satisfaction and their effect on turnover. Create summaries by type of worker to provide meaningful information at the aggregate level. You will also need to match the output (s) below using Excel. Your assignment is to replicate the analysis and seek to add further insight, so that better HR policies can be adapted and turnover be reduced. Deliverables: Data Analysis Delivered Via Excel (see samples below). Grading for the first 200 points of the assignment is indicated within the parentheses. Create an Index with macro enabled buttons (5%) Ensure that each page has navigation buttons Analysis by Gender (15%) Analysis by Employee Identity and Role (15%) Sensor Analysis (15%) Conditional Analysis Using SumIf, CountIf and Average If (15%) Geography Analysis (15%) Freeform correlation and statistical analysis (20%) This is your opportunity to demonstrate your critical thinking abilities by using advanced statistical analysis in Excel. Visual analytics Correlation between data fields An advanced Power Point presentation to the CHRO and CEO. Be sure to include a thorough departmental analysis, but be careful to consider geographical considerations. You must embed Excel objects within PowerPoint wherever possible to avoid keying errors. Grading for the last 100 points of the assignment is based on how well you make an evidence-based argument and present solid recommendations. OPTIONAL: If you are truly trying to advance yourself, include a multivariate analysis. Use SmartPLS to support your analysis. This part of the assignment will count as extra credit towards a future assignment.
