Create an Animation

A multiscreen HD video installation exploring the limits of perception, the space between the real and the virtual housed within a trip through multiple time/spaces. Loosely evoking relations between several strands of philosophical and theoretical inquiry. Concepts within Cybernetics, OOO, Artificial Intelligence, Technological and Mind/Body Consciousness industries, Spirituality, Queer theory, Poetry and speculative realism are reciprocally feeding the production of the characters shifting , ambiguous identities which serve as hosts to play with the complexities of contemporary subjectivity. Three prototype characters for what could be considered as archetypes or models for exploring the relational concerns. The films will be shot on a Black Magic Cinema Camera and I will work with a post production CGI technician to oscillate between video and animation, questioning the real and imagined within experience. Text will play a role in expanding different experiences of time. The break down of psychological coherence, loss of the sense of the passing of time, layered with subtitled and instruction texts, playing with notions of multiple experience. The films will be accompanied by a narrated voice-over from the viewpoint of an analyst/scientist/developer and from the characters inner monologues. Nature/culture argument in relation to the construction of gender; a questioning of the queer subject as object and the existence of a queer consciousness which goes beyond representation towards explorations of object orientated programming and Ontology. Consciousness and relation to non human beings. The theory of the multi-verse, parallel universes within it. This idea will be used as the approach to editing and for an exploration of the possibilities of perception and non verbal relations to other non human worlds and environments. The films attempt to mark a path linking the physically tangible world with the inconceivable world and address the dissolution of the dichotomy of body and spirit. Comprehensive Description of the Project: The project is in early stages of research and will be developed in the coming months, sourcing a Dop, sound recordist/composer and CGI post production technician. The HD video & CGI sequences will feature 3 characters and a range of found images, landscapes, interiors, objects and spaces. Shot on a Black Magic Camera and then digitally manipulated by the CGI technician. I propose to shoot the film sequences in Berlin and Oldenburg during the 6 month period & to work on the post production with the sound composer and the CGI technician.
