Hello, I am a mechanical engineer with a lot of experience 20 + years. SolidWorks work with since its inception. I am an expert on: - Sheet metal processing, - Injection molding of plastics, - Casting of aluminum, - CNC machining - AutoCad, SolidCam and others. You do not need AutoCad. The only contact with AutoCad is format DWG - laser cutting of sheet steel. You need: 1) 3D engineering modeling, for example SolidWorks. - to veraval all assemblies. - models are needed to allow the manufacturer to use them in his CAM systems. 2) Engineering drawings.
