The script should simulate a MBES (Echo sounder) display. See [login to view URL] for illustration of a MBES action. Input parameters: - MBES location (a dummy or camera object) - number of rays - display scale (output image pixels per surveyed seabed meter), horizontal and vertical separately - dot diameter in pixels - ray width in pixels - output image size - output image file path The display should be very basic: only blue rays and green dots. "output [login to view URL]" is a very rough (sorry) example of what could be generated from the example scene. Just write a MaxScript function. No UI required. I propose the following idea: 1. In a separate layer create the number of boxes for rays and cylinders for dots; apply blue and green self-illuminated materials 2. Render the seabed's ZDepth with the MBES camera 3. Process one pixel row from the bitmap; use some math to position the "rays" and "dots" 4. Use a separate orthographic camera to render the bitmap of the given size.
