I am a freelance writer and editor with 15+ years experience in marketing and managing a design and copy team.
Please find my answer to your 1st test below:
For many years I worked for money, a means to an end, the end mostly being new clothes and cocktails at the end of the week. Although I earned a lot of money, had a lot of status and enjoyed most the work I did, I felt swamped by politics and systems. Many times there would be a simple solution to a problem that was unachievable due the above issues, and, if I’m honest, people having their own agendas.
Since having children I've stepped away from the corporate world, searched my soul for what makes me happy and decided that writing and being my own boss would fit the criteria. Now I spend my days writing, sometimes stories, sometimes blogs and sometimes product descriptions. Some jobs are more riveting than others, but every day I am thankful that I can work from home, spend time with my children and indulge in my grand passion. I don’t earn as much money, there is little status accorded to a freelancer but working for myself is infinitely preferable to me, than working for a corporate or agency. So in answer to your question, nowadays, I work for passion rather than for money.
