I'm not blind, however if I were, I could still see that I am an excellent match for this project. I have two degrees in psychology: B.A. and M.A. I taught/researched for one year at the top school and research center for autism in the region. I spent three years as a special education teacher in the public school system. In graduate school I wrote and researched extensively on the topics of mental disabilities. Hey everyone. Today we are talking about "Intellectual Disability". Well, i hope all must be aware of it as it occurs in every 3 people out of every 100. To be brief about it, it is something where a child is born with a ability to learn everything very slowly. It can be found out by normal individual when they find that their kid is not able to do things a normal kid of his/her age are able to do. It is called as IQ(intelligence quotient) which is considered 100 as normal. An intellectually disable person may have it below 70-75. It is usually measured by comparing ability of the kid to do things who are suspected to suffer from it to normal kids ability of the same age. As i mentioned above that IQ of such people is below 70-75, that itself says that it is not 0... that means people suffering from this disorder are not someone who cannot do or learn things that other people can do. They can definitely do it, but only thing is that they will take little longer time to do or learn it. Now how does it really matter... May be they will have to be dependent on other people for a little longer time than other. But who in the society is not dependent on others. I am not blind to not see it. A housewife is dependent on her husband to get money to run the house...i can go on with many examples. You should think yourself next time you see a intellectually disable kid who is trying to play or walk that really they cannot do anything....

I have five years experience working with the mentally disabled/ developmentally disabled population. In doing this I have done research on several disabilities. I would love to bring my experience to your project.
