We are TrustyUp, the first search engine and comparison website for the sharing economy. We enable people to find accommodation, share a ride, sell stuff, learn languages and much more, all this from peer to peer. These services include Airbnb, where people are able to rent their properties; Bla Bla Car, where drivers can share their ride with other people; Fiverr, where people earn money by using their skills on freelance projects.
For this week's blog article, we want to describe the following. A fictitious girl, whose name is Marta, just moved from Barcelona to Berlin looking for a job that she cannot find in her home country. The first thing Marta has to sort out is to find a long term accommodation. In order to do so, she starts using several online resources, such as Facebook groups, rental agencies and websites like craigslist, uniplaces, spotahome and beroomers.
She is initially confused by all these services. However, using [login to view URL], she can find the offers from several websites all in one place. Eventually, she's able to find her accommodation thanks to Jan, who rents his apartment through a sharing economy website. In the end, the focus has to go on Marta, who was able to find a place for a cheaper price than going through rental agencies, and Jan, who was able to earn money by renting its unused apartment without having to pay fees to professional rental services.
