Ongoing Work – Spanish-English Copy Editors Needed

Thank you for your interest in our job post. I represent a small, but growing Publishing Company. We are actively looking to expand our current selection of books into Spanish. We are seeking talented proofreaders/copy editors who are interested in an potential long-term relationship with our company. We publish MM Gay Romance, FF Romance, Cozy Mysteries, Animal Care Books and Paranormal MM Romances. You must be comfortable with reading, proofreading and copy-editing sexually explicit scenes. Job Tasks: Proofreading and Copy-Editing: Reviewing and correcting stories to improve accuracy, readability and fitness for its purpose, and to ensure that it is free of error, omission, inconsistency and repetition. Major editing will not be required. However, we will send the translated copy and the original English version to you for any questions or needs for comparison. Translations can be tricky. We also understand that some things just don’t translate well. We want to give our Spanish readers the most pleasant experience we can. Project lengths vary approximately 30,000 words to 100,000 words. The pay for this job will start at 0.0011 per word (rounded up to nearest 1000 words). So, for example, editing a 30,000 word short Novella would pay $33.00, a 50,000 word Novella would pay $55.00, and a 100,000 word Novel would pay $110.00. Job Requirements: Teams or agencies need not apply, individuals only please. Must be a Bilingual English/Spanish Speaker/Writer with excellent spelling, grammar, proofreading and editing skills. Must have Microsoft Word (or equivalent) and know how to use it reasonably well. Stories will be sent in Word (.doc) format and you will need to use track function while doing edits. Again, we are looking for someone who is comfortable reading same sex romances and who is comfortable reviewing, reading and editing explicit love scenes. This is a fully online position. Your location, time zone and working hours are not an issue. You do not need to be available 24/7, but you do need to be able to reply to messages in a reasonable timeframe (i.e. 24 hours or less on weekdays) and adhere to the project schedule (typically a pace of 10,000 words per day).
