I have a Bachelor of Science in Geography with a concentration in Geographic Information Science. I have about one year of professional experience in GIS. As an intern, I digitized the polygon layers for areas that needed to be mowed. This included parks, historic sites and conservation areas. I even edited the park geodatabase system for the layers that needed to be mowed. Then at another job, I georegistered scanned maps and converted them to tiff formats. The tiff formats were the georegistered maps that were tied to a specific location on the earth's surface. Then using ArcGIS I overlaid the Tiff maps and performed QC to make sure that they were overlaid correctly. Besides ArcMap I also used Google Earth as a secondary reference. In one of my jobs, I also edited hydrology features like lakes from LIDAR maps. Using world imagery as a reference and elevation I had to accurately trace polygons of lakes where the lake actually begins. I have also edited parcel layers in my academic coursework. I used QGIS to edit parcel layers. I plan to spend up to 7 to 8 hours a day editing the parcels for agricultural fields. While using QGIS software to edit the parcels, I will have the satellite imagery of that area as my guide. In addition I will also have Google Earth as my secondary reference. I am confident that my skills in digitizing boundaries in QGIS are an excellent fit to this project. I am very interested in this opportunity and look forward to hearing from you.
